I keep wishing for things to be the way they were in high school

Enough said. I’ve been dwelling in the past for ages now, wishing things were the way they used to be… not only with my ex, but with my friendships and my own attitude at present. life just gets worse from here i assume… any ideas to get out of this rut? btw im 20 years old, so i guess its been about 3 years since i finished high school.
I went through the same thing. High school is a care free time with little responsibility and lots of fun. Things won’t ever be the same but it doesn’t mean it won’t be better. Focus on today and not yesterday and get as much positive out of each day.

Last week…..

…. my SO of five years decided that he needed time to think.

All good and everything and I understand that but my frustration here is that I am going through a medical issue right now and I could have used his shoulder to cry on/for support.

I guess he just couldn’t handle the situation and bailed. I’ll be going over ina week to pack the rest of my stuff.

I’m 35, man. I don’t want to start over with this dating bullshit

Weird sleep over situation

A while ago, while I was having roommate problems and in the process of moving out of my apartment, I slept over at the apartment of some female neighbors (I am a girl also). There were three of them who shared a one-bedroom apartment, although I was friendly with all of them I was only actually "friends" with one of them. Since their apartment was very small, I wound up sleeping in an extra bed which happened to be right next to one of the other girls who had just gotten engaged to her boyfriend (who I was just acquaintances with). In any case, in the morning, when she was getting out of her bed, which was right next to mine, she actually touched me you know where for a split second. This made me sort of feel awkward that I was sleeping there.

shitty family situation

so, this past january my younger brother (he’s 17, i’m 21) committed suicide, but my mom found him and called EMS and they got a heartbeat going again in the ambulance. he hanged himself in the garage and his brain went without oxygen for about 15 minutes or so, so he has very extensive brain damage. needless to say this has dramatically altered my family life. my mom (and her mom and her sister) are all really high strung, and she always was a little partial to my brother, so now she’s REALLY messed up. which is understandable.

Man I just have no motivation these days…

I’m going to be a senior in college with decent grades and I have no idea what to do. I could go to any grad school I manage to get accepted to (money is covered for me) and I just don’t know what I want to do. Its been really getting to me and I can’t seem to get myself to do anything much as of late.
Setting a goal for yourself not knowing what you want can be hard. My father said: in life it all comes down to money. If you have the money you can do the things you really want to do in life. Then there’s the joy of the daily activity’s. Ideally you combine what you enjoy with that what you earn the most possible amount of money with.

I need your help – what should I do?

Im worried to say the least, I dont want to get in trouble.

Long story but I’ll sum it up as briefly as I can. I was at Staples this morning to buy ink carts for my brothers printer – total was $64. 20mins after I leave, he calls me to not worry about it and that he got it since he was near a Staples. So Im like cool, ill just refund this set. Well here is where everything went downhill

I go in (same cashier), say that I wanted to refund it because my brother already picked a set up. She’s like ok. The package wasnt opened, and shes starting to tamper with it and open it. Im like wtf? This is brand new Shes like "ya I believe you…" Im thinking "uhh and yet youre opening it?"

I’m having surgery tomorrow…

And I’m nervous as hell. It’s a shoulder operation…all the tendons, ligaments, etc are loose and there might be torn cartiladge.

If this goes wrong and I lose too much range of motion, I won’t be able to pursue the career I want.
good luck.. i know how the night before surgery feels

Thanks. I know I’m over reacting to it, but I just keep thinking, what if what if what if something goes wrong and I lose range too much range of motion. I want to be a career fire fighter one day and that would be impossible without full function of my arm. What’s worse is it would be a lifestyle change because the operation is on my right arm and I’m right handed

Getting the spark back…

Some of you might remember my thread last week. I’ll answer any questions if you wanna know anything.

Basically, we’re trying to see if we can get the spark back. I’ve been doing things differently that past couple days and she has noticed.

I’m making this topic cause I’d like to hear from others how they got the spark back in their relationship. Any good stories? Any stories how your relationship was pretty much over but you turned it around? How did you win your SO back?

this video lifted my spirit

what do you guys think of the athletes in the video and their struggle?
sometimes I think that depression is best defined when the love for life is gone.

Seeing all those athletes crying with anguish or victory reminds of a UFC interview with Forrest Griffin and how he was talking about how after he lost one of his fights he pretty much sobbed like a baby. one of the reporters asked if that was a difficult thing to go through. he responded: "I worked so hard for something I loved, and I found something worth crying about… and I’m lucky"
