It’s a long story that I’m not explaining. I am, however, sitting here drinking some Captain and seriously questioning whether the last 7 1/2 years of my life have been worth it, and how all the sacrifices I made in that time just brought me where I’m at now, which is pretty much nowhere.

Stay strong and don’t become too friendly with that bottle. It doesn’t help you any.

Oh wow. Sorry to hear that. I would suggest doing things that are tangible and easy accomplish on a daily basis that improve aspects of yourself that you are unhappy with. Try to find some new music or something, too. Not sad, depressing music, either.

After you go on your week long bender, of course.

You’ll be alright, man. We all fuck up at some point. But tomorrow is a totally different story.

At some point I may tell the whole story; maybe somebody can benefit from the hard lessons I learned (although they probably won’t; I didn’t listen to anyones’ advice when these problems first started )
Some of us have to learn things the hard way. I sure have.
You did as best as you knew how given the circumstances, and it led you to be with someone you cared for for 7.5 years. Be happy in what you experienced, the good and the bad, for it has allowed you to experience some very happy times that you will cherish, and also for some lessons that you probably needed to learn.

Don’t beat yourself up too much, if you find yourself resorting to the bottle for a decent period of time, always remember AA is there to help you, and it’s free.

Go get a shrink, it helps unlike the bottle or the other stuff

After feeling sorry for myself for a little while, I am back onto my feet, sorta. I am trying to turn this into a positive instead of dwelling on this shit and getting depressed about it
You know what….I seriously doubt that 7 years with someone left you NOWHERE. I mean sure you’re hurting and you’re sad that things aren’t working out but come on….it wasn’t a total waste.

I’ve had bad relationships in the past and they were still good for me. I learned something along the way.
