why do people wish at 11:11.

You do it because you see a pattern that repeats itself over and over again. You think this repetition has meaning when in fact, it does not.
In Sweden you get to wish at both 11:11 and 22:22 (10:22 pm)

I always do. It’s a silly bullshit thing to do when I notice it’s 11:11. Gotta love putting a little bullshit faith into something from time to time.
People tend to be wishful at 1:11 or 11:11. Or rather anytime they see those numbers. I’ve actually documented the outcomes of my wishes, and found that the number is a warning sign, for thoughts that I should not be thinking or that it’s not going to be exactly what I’m hoping for. Today is a good example of that. I was watching the Lakers vs Jazz game on TV when the clock said 11:11. I believe it was the 3rd quarter and the score was tied. The Lakers are my team (behind the Celtics) so I knew it wasn’t going to be a good night for them. They ended up losing in overtime by 10 or so. This also happens when I see a UFC fight and notice the 1:11. When I see it, the fighter that I am rooting for at the moment ends up losing.

222 or 2222 however is a good number. It’s not something to motivate or push you, but it signifies harmony.

i hope u dont look at the clock when its 11:11 or 1:11 when lakers play in LA =P

Well last night they were losing and I had already written them off. Then they made a nice run to tie it up and I was hopeful they’d be able to win. If they’re already up convincingly by 11:11, well, no worries

got it again in games 1 & 2 in the first quarter. in g1 it was multiple and repeatedly "flashing". i hope that doesn’t mean they won’t win the series at all. in g2 it was when the lakers were up 2-0!

I’ve had a problem of looking at a clock when it happens to be 11:11 am or pm. It’s been going on for 13~ years or so now. It’s just an automatic instinct. I’ll just randomly open my phone or look at my cable box, and it says 11:11

Some days it gets very scary and its 11:11pm 11 degrees celcius out.
i actually sleep at 10:00pm every night because i wake up very early, but my alarm goes off at 11:10pm so i can wish at 11:11pm.
